Memory Room

To exists between two worlds; past and future, memory and ideal, solid and void, seen and unseen.
What is a square table to you? An image so nondescript and fleeting. A collective memory, a warm feeling, sustained and protected through time, a game of mahjong. A symbol of leasure as a form of resistance to the cherry-picking of a neighbourhood that exists in perpetual defense againts the cultural flattening of the sterile city.
The room circulates the neighbourhood to create memories of where Chinatown is present and becomes a subtle anchor of place for a historically vulnerable community. The room does not command people to it, it must be stumbled upon.
